Equal Opportunities
Manor Farm Montessori Nursery School will not discriminate against any child on the grounds of race, gender, disability or religious belief and will take positive action to ensure as far as possible the needs of all children are met. The school is open to every family in the community. The nursery school will provide multi-cultural activities which acknowledge different cultures, events and festivals. Food appropriate to each child's culture or religious beliefs will be provided. Children's clothes will be respected. Racism and prejudice is harmful to all children and will not be tolerated in the nursery school. Children will be encouraged to respect and value other ethnic or racial groups, religions, cultures and languages. The nursery school will encourage a positive attitude to all aspects of equal opportunities so that all children feel equally valued regardless of their race, gender, disability or religious belief. All children will be respected and their individuality and potential recognised, valued and nurtured. Activities and the use of our materials and equipment offer children opportunities to develop in an environment free from prejudice and discrimination. Opportunities will be given to children to explore, acknowledge and value similarities and differences between themselves and others. The nursery school will appoint the best person available for each job vacancy and will treat fairly all applicants for jobs and all those appointed. No applicant will be rejected on the grounds of age, gender, sexuality, class, means, family status, disability, colour, ethnic origin, culture, religion or belief. Commitment to implementing the school's Equal Opportunities Policy will form part of the job description to all staff. Return to top |
